PEMBERDAYAAN PELAKU UMKM PEMPEK RUMAHAN DI WILAYAH 1 ILIR PALEMBANG MELALUI PELATIHAN PENGGUNAAN E-COMMERCE SEBAGAI USAHA MENINGKATAN PENDAPATAN
Abstract
The implementation of the Community Service Program (PKM) carried out in Kelurahan 1 Ilir, Ilir Timur II District, Palembang City, was conducted in partnership with pempek and fish cake vendors operating from home-based businesses and small food stalls. As a traditional business that has been passed down for generations, the development of this culinary trade has continued to grow, with an increasing number of vendors selling and promoting these traditional foods in the area. The main challenge faced by these vendors and small business actors is the lack of significant improvement and expansion in marketing. In addition, the development of technology that enables the use of information technology as a marketing tool has not been well understood, and there are no resource persons available to broaden their knowledge, so they can take advantage of existing online technology to expand their marketing reach and ultimately increase the income and welfare of these home-based entrepreneurs.
Based on observations and analysis of field conditions, the identified problems of home-based entrepreneurs are, first, the low level of knowledge among vendors regarding e-commerce in business activities, including limited understanding of the impact and benefits of online trading, as well as the lack of knowledge and socialization about online shops as a means of marketing. Therefore, the solution to address these problems is to conduct socialization and training on e-commerce and its benefits for businesses. The stages of this program consist of the preparation stage, implementation stage, and reporting stage, which are expected to be completed within three (3) months.
The outcomes of the program implementation showed that business actors experienced an increase in their understanding of the importance of e-commerce, especially online marketing and its benefits. In addition, partners who previously did not have online shop accounts were able to create and register accounts after the training, which could then be utilized in their business activities.
